Report: Duma approves COVID-free QR code bill for public places
MOSCOW, Dec 16 (PRIME) -- Russia’s State Duma, the parliament’s lower house, has approved in the first out of three readings a bill on mandatory use of COVID-free QR codes in public places, Forbes reported on Thursday.
The bill was backed by 329 deputies, 87 voted against, and one abstained.
The QR code will be needed to visit public places, including cultural institutions, cafes, restaurants, and shops. It can be obtained as a proof of vaccination, recovery from COVID-19 or medical exemption from a jab.
The initiative is to come in force from February 1, 2022.
